This week in destiny eververse

The latest This Week at Bungie is mainly a recap of the big Destiny 2 announcements that dropped earlier this week, including a teaser for Saint's return and a livestreamed look at some of the other changes coming in Season of Dawn. But it expands on all of that a bit with some bullet-point specifics on more granular changes, including small increases to Power and Pinnacle reward caps and a long-awaited buff to Thundercrash, the Striker Code of the Missile Super ability, that's been given a boost to base damage, in-flight damage, and the amount of time you can stay in the air after it's activated.

The new TWAB also reveals changes coming to the Eververse Store that will see a significantly increased amount of inventory made available for Bright Dust along with the premium Silver currency.

Roughly 50 percent of Eververse items will have been purchasable with Bright Dust at some point during the Season of Undying by the time it wraps up next week, but Bungie aims to get that up to around 80 percent for Season of Dawn.

The Eververse Store will also prevent the purchase of items already in your collection in the new season, in order to ensure that people aren't blowing Silver or Bright Dust on stuff they already have. Tweaks will also be made to the Bright Dust economy in the new seasson. Crimson Days will do the same for Weekly bounties only, as this event does not include Repeatable bounties. Topics FPS.Bungie is going all-in on expanded armor and other RPG elements in the upcoming Destiny 2 Shadowkeep expansion, and as Destiny director Luke Smith announced today, the studio's making big changes to the in-game, real money-driven Eververse Store to support this shift.

Let's start with the biggest change: as of September 17, all Eververse armor pieces will become Universal Ornaments which can be applied to any post-Shadowkeep Legendary armor.

As of this September, all Eververse armor is being converted into Universal Ornaments. They override the look of your equipped gear while preserving the perks, mods, and stats of the original item. For all intents and purposes, this is Destiny's first true stab at transmog - the ability to apply the appearance of one piece of gear to another piece of gear that has the stats you want.

Players have been asking for a transmog equivalent for years, so this is a pretty big deal. Granted, this system will be limited to the Eververse armor you've unlocked through seasonal, event, and Bright engrams, and only Legendary armor acquired in or after Shadowkeep will be eligible, but this will still unlock a ton of cosmetic options.

This should also work well with the Armor 2.

It also pretty much confirms that the system changes coming in Shadowkeep won't be retroactive, meaning we'll likely dump all of our current armor - not that I'm complaining. In with the new, I say. To make this pseudo-transmog system and general customization more accessible, Bungie is also changing the way Bright Dust is spent and acquired. Silver is Destiny 2's premium currency, but Bright Dust can be earned just by playing the game, earning Bright Engrams, and completing Eververse bounties.

As Smith said, dismantling Eververse items has always been the best way to get Bright Dust. That option is going away, so to offset this change, Bright Dust rewards are being added to Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties. Smith said that "after you complete all your bounties for the week, there will be an additional avenue to keep grinding out Bright Dust. What's more, once Shadowkeep drops, purchasing Eververse items and shaders from your Collections tab will no longer cost Bright Dust.

Instead, they'll cost Glimmer and Legendary Shards.

In other words, if you like the look of an Eververse Ghost or Sparrow but you don't like your roll, you won't need to spend more Bright Dust to get the version you want. Given the changes coming to the Bright Dust economy, Bungie advised players to dismantle all unwanted Eververse items - shaders, sparrows, Ghost shells, transmat and Ghost effects, armor - before September 17 while they still award Bright Dust. You'll be able to reacquire all of them for Legendary Shards and Glimmer once Shadowkeep is out.

These seem like great changes which will make customizing Guardians much easier and more exciting. This will not only give countless abandoned Eververse armor sets new life while letting players make their best-rolled armor look its best, it will also help with Destiny 2's relative lack of new activity-based armor sets.

The ability to repurchase Eververse items without taking a hit to the Bright Dust bank is the cherry on top. Good things all around. In Destiny 2 players can purchase a number of cosmetic items through the Eververse store at the Tower. These items provide no game impacting bonuses, but allow you to take your customization options to the next level.

For sale from July 14 — 21 are a number of items. Silver is mainly acquired by paying real world money while Bright Dust can be earned. With this Silver you can buy the following items:. The items shown above can be found under the Bright Dust tab in the Eververse stores. These items are purchased using the Bright Dust currency. Like the featured items these items switch out weekly.

Donkey says:. December 20, at pm.This week at Bungie, Guardian Games nears the finish line. As you know, rewards for your character come from a variety of places: Playlists where you find random folks to play with, aspirational activities like Raids, Trials, and Dungeons where you form up a Fireteam, and even Eververse, where you sling some Silver or Bright Dust back at us for items you want.

This will allow players to turn their Armor into Universal Ornaments. We plan to allow players to do this with in-game effort OR Silver. This feature is in early development and is expected sometime during Year 4.

Each Season we will deliver an aspirational pursuit for armor. This armor will come from activities, not the Season Pass nor Eververse. As an example: We removed the Eververse Armor from Season 11 and itemized it into an aspirational activity, because this is the right thing to do for the game. Going forward, Aspirational Activities will reward players with power, items, and vanity. When we build an Aspirational Activity it will have at least one accessory to pursue. The team is working on Adept Weapons for Trials of Osiris.

Trials will get new Armor aka not reprisalaccessories, and weapons in Season Trials will get new Armor every year. Beginning in Season 12, we will no longer be selling ships, ghost shells, sparrows, or armor ornaments in Eververse that are visually based on themes from Aspirational Activities.

We are not planning on changing existing items as that is time we could be spending on itemizing the future. We are adding a new set of Armor for the core playlists Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible.

This armor shares a set of new geometry, with decals and shaders specific to the activity. We will create new sets like this each Year e. This set will arrive alongside the next Expansion.
